Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026
1. The service
DjVuView ("the service") is a web tool that views DjVu documents and converts them to PDF directly in your browser. The files themselves never leave your device — all decoding, rendering and file generation happen locally in your browser.
2. Accuracy disclaimer — you must verify the output
Real-world DjVu files vary (early encoder quirks, rare chunk layouts, unusual rotations). The converter is best-effort: each PDF page is a faithful image of the rendered DjVu page at the chosen resolution, the OCR text layer is shown for copying in the viewer but is not embedded into the PDF, and documents the decoder cannot open are reported as errors rather than silently dropped. You are responsible for reviewing the output against your original files before relying on it — especially before deleting or overwriting the originals. We are not liable for decisions based on exported output.
3. No professional advice
The service is a file-format utility. Nothing on this site constitutes legal or other professional advice. An exported file is a convenience copy, not a certified record.
4. License terms
Viewing, browsing and exports capped at the first 3 pages at 150 DPI are free. A paid license (one-time: $9.99 for 90 days or $19.99 lifetime) grants one user a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to unlimited full-document exports at 150 or 300 DPI for its term — neither tier renews and there is nothing to cancel. A license key does not itself expire; the 90-day term applies to the 3-month tier from the date of purchase. You may not share, resell, or redistribute license keys. Abuse of a key (e.g. public posting) may result in deactivation without refund.
5. Acceptable use
You may use the service only for files you are authorized to possess, and for lawful purposes. You agree not to attempt to disrupt the service or misrepresent it.
6. Intellectual property
The service, its design, and its code are our property. Your documents — and everything in them — remain entirely yours. DjVu is an open document format originally developed at AT&T Labs; this independent tool is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the DjVu project, DjVuLibre, or AT&T.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service (in whole or in part) at any time; since paid licenses are one-time purchases (not subscriptions), if we discontinue the service we will refund purchases made in the 12 months before discontinuation.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or the price of the cheapest license, whichever is greater). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or lost data.
9. Refunds
If a paid license does not work for your files, contact us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. Because the converter is free to test with your actual files before buying, refunds outside this window are at our discretion.
10. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time; the "last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
